Sue’s Encore Career Transition

My Mission: To Playfully Celebrate Life

How did I become a Career and Life Design Coach?

I think the Universe puts events in motion for us even before we are consciously aware that a change is in the works or needs to happen. I reached a point where my life had become stagnant and stale and I was searching for a way to re-energize.

Through what now seem like a serendipitous event, I was invited to attend a weekend seminar that woke me up in a way I’d never before experienced. I was so delighted with my results that I took more courses and I eventually had the opportunity to coach a particular program.

Coaching was a life-changing experience. I discovered that I loved coaching people to create projects that inspired them to stretch beyond where they ever thought they could go. I loved seeing them develop a greater sense of their own power to cause their lives rather than be at the effect of circumstances or limiting beliefs or habitual behaviors. Coaching was so fulfilling and rewarding that I volunteered every time I had the chance.

Why Career and Life Design Coaching?

I spent many years in corporate America. I’m grateful to have worked in a terrific organization with amazing people, many of whom I’m happy to say are still great friends and associates. The opportunities I had to learn, to grow, and to be of service extended way beyond anything I dreamed of, thanks to people who believed in me more than I believed in myself.

When things changed and I got laid off, I considered going back into another corporate job. For a short time, I even tried another job that didn’t work out. I discovered I wanted something more. I didn’t want to get back into the rat race.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I DID want to do next until it dawned on me that I could share what I was learning with people like you who are facing (or will face) similar career transitions. I was inspired when I got the idea to use  my coaching training to help people get from where they are to where they want to go. It seemed like a natural fit. I didn’t know then that I was doing what millions of people are doing. I was creating my Encore Career - doing something I have a passion for and something that is aligned with my purpose.

The world is changing rapidly and the world of work is changing even faster. While that can seem daunting, I believe this is the PERFECT time for you to use your talent and your years of knowledge, experience and wisdom to create a brand new way to work that fits how the world is evolving. And I believe you can design it in a way that serves your needs and your desire for a rich and fulfilling ”second act” that allows you to make a difference and leave a legacy.
